How to help someone with a bill, safely
Helping someone pay an electricity or household bill is one of the most concrete forms of support. Doing it safely takes a few minutes of checking before you send anything.

Start with the request
A good request explains what the bill is for, the amount, and why it is a problem now. On PayPlea, supporting documents stay private and are used for review — you will not see someone’s bill, which protects them.
Checklist before sending
- Read the full request, not just the card.
- Look at the progress: is the confirmed amount already close to the target?
- Check the recipient name in the provider screen.
- Decide an amount you are comfortable never seeing again.
- Send through the link shown in PayPlea, not one sent privately.
Paying the supplier directly?
Some people prefer to pay a utility company directly. PayPlea does not support that, because it would require sharing private account numbers. Do not ask recipients to publish them.
After sending
Return to PayPlea, declare the amount and attach a receipt with private details concealed. Read protecting details on receipts.
Safety box
Only send money you are comfortable giving. Check the recipient name shown by the provider, never pay with gift cards or crypto at someone’s request, and remember that many personal transfers cannot be reversed. PayPlea cannot recover money sent with an external provider.
